I am going to start adding modifications to my old computer. It was about 1500 dollars back in the day and my uncle built it for me but over they years it was quickly out performed by newer computers so i am going to start saving money to start upgrading it. AMD or Intel? How much ram should i get? And i have a good graphics card in there right now but it is old so should i replace that to? It has 2 fans should I add more? How many cores should my processor be? Any help would be nice! Thank You!

Not only that, but the specifications that hardware is built to changes and improves.

If your computer is that old, you should be replacing it, not upgrading it

Regardless, PC building is not like a game of lego -- parts just don't go together with everything.
You need to make sure that every part in your build is supported by all the other parts, that you'll have enough power to run them all, and that they all perform evenly well enough so that no one part is a bottleneck.

If you haven't built a pc before, you should be doing a fair bit of research first

I helped my friend redo his. I know all what to do so I know what all goes together. He just redid an old computer and he had an AMD FX-9590 put in. We put in a Msi 970 mother board in. I don't remember what graphics card we put in. We did have to upgrade his power so i know i will have to do that. He also put 20 gb of ram into it. It works very well with no bugs as off right now. Its been running for at least a couple of months now. So i kind of have a guild line on what to do, but i wanna opinion on what could be better.

Whats your budget, what sort of things do you want out of it?

what is the most bad-ass game that u want to play? The game that is the newest and requires the most hardware
would u be happy running that game on medium graphics or do u want bleeding edge ultra high graphics?
what, other than gaming will u be using the pc for?

I don't have a budget because i know its gonna take awhile buying all the parts that fit and are required I wanna to be able to play Fallout 4 and Ark Survival on ultra high graphics. I won't be using this pc for much else because i have the laptop im using right now for college.

I know my standards are high but i want the best i can get for a the best price.

With those specs and my jobs ill probably get the computer in 8 months which is fine for me.
