Looking for Minecraft textures (aspiring artists?)

So put simply; I have a 64-bit texture pack which I use for Minecraft, and I have distributed for a few occassions on these forums.
It covers all current Vanilla blocks, which is awesome, but I also want to cover as many of the blocks in the mods of the Adventure RP server.

Now unfortunately I don't seem to be able to find the time to work on it because of all the other things I need to do. So I'm gonna ask here to see if anyone is interested in trying to make some textures that I can add to the pack.

The basis of the textures are:
- Must be 64 pixels wide, by 64 pixels high.
- Is based on 'realism', or what a realistic interpretation of the object would be
- Is smoothly textured, and not overly bright.

If you're interested, feel free to either post here and ask what blocks or whatever I need done, or download the adventure rp pack using this link and check the blocks and items out ingame for yourself.

I'm cool with anything, so just give it a go or message me about anything. I'm really just hoping to get some help with it

Some starting blocks to give a go:
Basalt
Marble
Redwood logs
Redwood planks
Redwood leaves
Willow logs, planks, and leaves
Bone-gravel (bones mixed in with gravel)
Copper ore
Tin ore

If you're more interested in items:
Wooden -> Diamond scythes
Wooden -> Diamond spears
Heavy Diamond armour
Heavy Iron armour
Darkwood bow
Bloodwood bow
Lamps (like desk lamps)

Here's the current pack, so you can try it out ingame and stuff.
Feel free to mix and match current textures to create new stuff. (Such as using existing gravel texture to make bone-gravel)

I really need this, and I'd greatly appreciate any help at all,

Thanks!

I could try it. I haven't worked much with pixels before. I'll try redwood logs and planks. Photoshop will work for this right? It doesn't have to be a special program?

Tslat

Photoshop is what I use, yeah

For realism, I find it works well to try and get a real life photo and try and base if off that.

For example get a photo of some redwood in real life, and see if you can work that look into 64x64 pixels.

Thanks for the attempt Tiger, means a lot to me to get help with this

I made the redwood logs, planks, and top. I'm not sure how well they go together, we'll have to test them out. Where do I send them to you?

Tslat

They look great!

Here's what they look like next to oak logs from my pack:

Any chance you could do the corner & edge variants of them in the same style?

I'm on TS if you want to come on there and talk

I'm on TS now. You might have to go through how the corner log should look.

I made new logs, log top at 64, and a giant log top at 128. I'm having trouble matching up the giant 128 log with the inside corners. It's going to be a lot more work than I thought. And I may or may not have gone a little overboard with the logs, and they now look a little cinnamon bun-y.

I added your texture pack to my mine craft. How can I add textures, so that I can test them in game?

Tslat

Depends on the mod, you have to add them in the same directory that the mod looks for

Tell me the blocks and I'll tell you what to do

Well, I want to test the Redwood logs, tops, and planks. I also made a wooden Scythe that I also want to try.

So for extrabiomesxl blocks (redwood):
Open the texturepack folder
Go into the assets folder
Create a new folder inside there called "extrabiomesxl"
Inside that create one called "textures"
Inside that create one called "blocks"
Put your redwood textures in there

You will need to rename them:
The bark texture will need to be called "logredwoodside.png"
The single-block sized top will need to be called "logredwoodtop.png"
The 4 corner-top blocks will need to be called "redwoodtop1" (make it 1-4, one for each corner)
The planks will need to be called "planksredwood.png"

The scythe is a tricky one cus we have a few, I'll need to be home to check that one

So I go in, "Claytonia-RP", then "assets", and put in "extrabiomexl". Or do I continue into the mine craft folder?

If you still need help I might be able to help. Any blocks that still need to be done?
Need artsy stuff pm me or email me at dylan502@gmail.com

Tslat

Any of the minecraft 1.8 prismarine blocks are still needed if you want to give them a go

Remember that the theme is realism
