These are the base rules for the Elven Race:

• Elves are a tree dwelling race and therefore must build in trees above ground level
• Elves can't build or use a Tinkers Construct smeltery, but can use tool tables
• Elves are the only race allowed to build in twilight forest
• Elves are the only race that can use tinker's construct bows
• Elves cannot use swords or battle axes (anything labelled  with, or looks like a sword/battleaxe. Can use daggers, glaives, etc..)
• Elves cannot use metal armour
• They are the only race that can breed Chocobos
• Elves can't use firearms or grenades
• Elves are in tune with the spirit of the world as such they can use magic, but can not enchant.
• Elven knowledge of the forest and nature make them the only race that can brew
• Any trees they cut down in the overworld (not twilight forest) must have all  collected saplings replanted, except for twilight oak trees
• Elves can not use tinkers construct hammers
• Elves have trouble eating meat-like foods, and enjoy plant-based foods greatly
