I'm happy about this. In my opinion when google takes something over they make it better. Maybe now twitch will get it's own software instead of needing to use 3rd party apps.

Twitch has been poorly run in the past to be honest, a new management scheme would be quite welcome.

Perhaps Google's mass server-potential would be able to improve the available services too, since Twitch has much potential but is quite limited in implementation.

Hoping it doesn't just turn into a G+ fest

I think google might help twitch, but ever since google got youtube it has gotten a bad reputation.
At least this explains why some youtubers are fleeing twitch like rats on a sinking ship.

Well to be fair, some of the hate surrounding youtube is because they suffer from sheep syndrome.

Though Google's commercialization of youtube has of course contributed significantly.
