that weather would be great to camp in, but my favorite is still winter camping. below freezing, big fire, lots of beer, good friends, and miles from any building just makes for a great camping trip!

i make a point to do it at least once a year.

I haven't done much winter camping. I have camped in cold conditions, just not in the winter. Ironically, on our trip to Death valley a couple months ago, it got very cold one night. The wind was so bad, one of the scout's flimsy dome tents kept folding in on them. (Partially because they didn't have very good anchors going from it...). It really is nice sitting around a campfire when it is really cold though. Who needs TV and all this other stuff when you have the company of family and friends, and some awesome stories?

Ever try snow camping?

   Nope, but I'm sure your tent gets pretty warm, especially if it's snowing outside

   During the summer I work at a boy scout camp and the weather there will range from 85 in the afternoons to about 35-40 at night.

Snow camping requires no tent.  One only needs a shovel and a sleeping bag.
