Kathryn

S C R I B E
Name:: Kathryn
Race:: Elf
Role:: Scribe and Keeper of Lore (Penname is Faiyuki)
Gender:: Female
Age:: Just beginning her 'second cycle' (in human age, probably early twenties)

Description:: She's tall and slender, as most elves are, and wears dark coloured (black, dark grey, navy blue, dark greens, etc) light armour — leather or regular clothing is what she's usually dressed in, though it tends to be fairly ornate as she doesn't have much need for armour or practicality in her clothing, since she almost always remains indoors with her books. She's fair in complexion with amber-red eyes and very, very long black hair that has a little bit cropped short in front of her ears. Usually she wears a smile, though there is a vague glimmer to her eyes that makes it appear as if she is listening for something more than the exact words you speak, and she greets every person of every race as an equal until they prove dangerous to her or her kin.

Personality:: In terms of personality Kathryn falls into several different extremes; she can be extremely stubborn and even narrow minded in her desperate search for more knowledge. When she isn't following along (or being lead by the nose along) a trail that (hopefully) will lead to answers she is quite friendly and considerate, even (if not especially) to members of the other races. While she tends to get short with dwarves, finding that they are the quickest to get on her nerves, she would not hesitate to offer a helping hand if another were in need. While she is fairly open about many things she, like all others, has secrets that she intends to keep to herself. Self-conscious about whether or not the history she writes is accurate, Kathryn may be tentative in offering up information about what she knows and has observed until she knows 100% that her information is flawless. She hates all forms of physical conflict and avoids it at every possible opportunity and more than once has wound up badly injured because she has been so hesitant to raise a weapon.

Kathryn has difficulties with managing herself when there is information around that is actively kept from her.
Her passion for knowledge can interfere with her abilities of reasoning from time to time, though she still attempts to compensate.
It is because of this that the alfar trouble her consistently.

Lore:: There is a long period, after her birth, which Kathryn — or, previously, "Faiyuki" — has lost her memory of. Much of her childhood after being born of the great tree is lost to her and all time before the start of her second cycle — the "late youth" and "early adulthood" of elven life — is a black fog that she cannot make sense of. She had been told that she raised, but she had no recollection of it at all. As time stretched on she was "approached" by Arbor — though visited in a dream would be a better way to describe it — and her path was made clear: she was to be Scribe. She was reborn in namesake, path, and appearance as "Kathryn", Scribe of the Elves and keeper of Lore and History.
