Yea, so I'm taking full blame for this last crash.

I grabbed a wizard villager with the capsule station.
Brought him up to the bridge that one of the admin's put a meteor shield.
When I placed it, I hadn't realized that the bleedin' capsule destroyed a layer of blocks around the one I placed it on >.<
In doing so it broke the meteor shield, and everything started to freeze and lag.

Maybe a bad interaction between the three mods (sorcery, better dungeons, and meteors)

Sorcery mod should be avoided at all costs.

This kind of crash could take me upwards of 48 hours to fix, it's not fun
Like what you see here?

Blaidrug

No kidding.
As soon as it's back up, I'm getting rid of absolutely everything from that mod (in my stuff at least), magick or not lol
Who's afraid of the big, bad wolf...

DietBandit

I some what do not like to say this, but if you knew the chunk or set of chunks the error is in you could always delete those chunks and i would be happy to help blair rebuild what was lost. If that gets the server up faster for everyone.

Blaidrug

Oh that would suck so very very very much.

Especially since I moved literally all my stuff in there before the crash.

XD I'd literally have nothing but the armor on my back.
Who's afraid of the big, bad wolf...

DietBandit

Like I said Blaid I would help you out. Even if you lost all your stuff.

Blaidrug

I appreciate that, man.

And eh, if that does happen it wont be all bad.
Either I can become a mad hermit hidden in a distant village somewhere, or I can redesign my castle XD
Who's afraid of the big, bad wolf...

DietBandit

lol yeah, but preferably the castle lol it looks like a baseball base on the map lol

Blaidrug

Yeaaa, when I was designing that I had planned on making that entire floor stone, and put a pentagram in it XD
Would make the Pentagon shape make more sense...
Who's afraid of the big, bad wolf...

DietBandit

why not make the entire thing one giant pentagon lol instead of doing it on the floor?

Tslat

If only it was that easy.

The way minecraft stores files, chunks are stored alongside a bunch of other chunks in the files.
So you can't just delete one small section -it'll rake hundreds of blocks jn every direction with it

Blaidrug

Damn o.o
Well, there goes that idea.

Sorry, T.
I had absolutely no idea trying to move a damned villager would cause so much trouble.
Who's afraid of the big, bad wolf...

Tslat

VTA Seems to think it may have been him that caused the crash, as he was also using a Sorcery block.

I was under the impression that I'd told everybody not to use Sorcery under any circumstances..I guess no-one listened
Like what you see here?

We can't keep doing it without you!

Blaidrug

Well, I hadn't been, I completely forgot that the wizard villager was a part of the sorcery mod XD

VTA just doesn't listen. But eh! Men, what're ya gonna do.
Who's afraid of the big, bad wolf...

DietBandit

If you use a back up could you not splice the code in from a back up, i mean it might be able to save it somewhat.

DietBandit

Because deleting the chunk blaid was in and that affecting hundreds of blocks around would delete most of human.

Tslat

Here's a little snippet from the crash log to give you an example

"(1,0; contains chunks 32,0 to 63,31, blocks 512,0,0 to 1023,255,511)"

That single file that the error is in, also contains all blocks from 520-0-0, through to 1023-255-511

One chunk contains 65280 blocks.
The file that contains that chunk contains a total of 66,846,720 blocks.
Deleting or modifying that chunk will also directly affect anything within 500 blocks in any given direction.

The crash did occur because of VTA, so you're lucky this time blaid.

DietBandit

I might have found something of use to you tslat, all though not useful for the crash.

The read me text is at the bottom.

I tried to get it just to run for me and failed, but you might have better luck.

Tslat

Cheers, might come in handy.
The sorcery mod guy came on 3 days ago again, didn't respond to my messages though.

Oh, thank Hecate!

And yea, sounds about right.

Might have been flooded by people asking and prodding about his mod.
Who's afraid of the big, bad wolf...

Tslat

Maybe, but no-one has replied to his forum thread in a while either lol.

Blaidrug

It's also possible that he's given up on the mod, maybe he'd been having trouble with the coding himself lol
Who's afraid of the big, bad wolf...

DietBandit

I still think this looks like it decompiled right for me.

Clay

.doc = upload to google drive to read... people still use word? :)

DietBandit

I am on a mac Lol  ;D so this is the best I could do on a 5 min break at work

Tslat

That's decompiled but not deobfuscated

Maybe he didn't make it in forge? Seems odd
Like what you see here?

We can't keep doing it without you!

Blaidrug

That does...

What little I know about mod coding (or coding in general) forge is basically like base files, right?
Basically something to make coding easier?
Who's afraid of the big, bad wolf...

DietBandit

that not using the item i sent on git hub that using something else i was trying

Tslat

Like what you see here?

We can't keep doing it without you!

DietBandit

The github link that item might work. The doc I sent was not using that item.

This one, it says it is supposed to do what your looking for.

Tslat

Oh yeah, I'll try that after i fix the server
Like what you see here?

Tslat

Server is back up.

Just since no-one seems to understand it when I say it nicely, I'll repeat it again.

DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING FROM THE SORCERY MOD.

I had to pan through the hexadecimal block maps for the entire chunk to find the one block that was misplaced, and replace it with my own entry.
Needless to say, it was not easy, or fun.

I do not want to have to do that again, so until I say otherwise; DO NOT TOUCH SORCERY.
Like what you see here?

VTA

Sorry everyone my bad wont happen again.

Blaidrug

You rock Tslat, and I'mma make sure that everything sorcery relate in the entire kingdom is destroyed.

Tslat

Sorcery is no longer on the server.

Our new magic mod is better anyway, in my opinion
