After trying many things to fix the tekkit servers problems and going through Pages and pages and pages of logs i narrowed it down to 5 problematic plugins. I started with the least used so the tekkit game itself wouldn't be compromised. After disabling one and then the problem occurring again i disabled another and so on. Last night i disable mystcraft and it seemed to have fixed the problem BUT the people who are in another world cannot log on. SO i am re-installing mystcraft for one day so everyone can return to the main world. I will then disable mystcraft again and hopefully it will fix the problem. If the crashes keep going then i will put mystcraft back on and keep looking for the cause.

i need everyone to get out of your mystcraft worlds.

alright i left the world let me know if there is anything else i can do for ya

Clay

just wait, i have to let mystcraft run so everyone can get out of the worlds. It crashed the server if someone joined who was in a diff world.
when everyone is in main world post here and i can take mystcraft down to see if it is the cause.

So this is pretty relevant. I can almost guarantee you it's not the mystcraft plugin itself. I run a smaller tekkit lite server for some of my friends and I and I had a similar lag/crashing issue that seemed to be linked to mystcraft.

In reality, what was actually the cause of it was the mystcraft ages I had created with large amounts of liquid (water, oil and lava) for the specific purpose of pumping said liquids out of them in large volumes. There's something about the way that minecraft handles the liquid physics  when large amounts of liquids are being pumped out.

Like I said before, I had this very  same issue on my server, and to fix it we stopped pumping lava from the nether/ages, we started only pumping oil from natural deposits, and we only pumped water from player-made 3x3 infinite water pools. Once we did those things, the sever lag/crashing issues stopped.

Before you completely remove a very cool addon, I'd suggest we try making these changes instead because I'm pretty sure we're having the same issue as I did.

Clay

If this doesn't fix it then the plugin will be reinstalled. I do not take it off lightly.

The point I'm making is that this is likely going to fix it, but not because the plugin has a problem. It's going to fix it because you're removing our access to the lava age we've all been pumping from, which is what I would bet money on is causing the -real- problem.

Kind of like breaking your finger, then cutting off your hand so you don't have a broken finger anymore.

Zito

Problrm is, how would we enforce the no liquid age rule?

Sybl

Why are we enforcing it? Just tell people to stop pumping large amounts of liquids like lava pools. Is this server really so full of immature douchebags that we can't just have a gentleman's agreement not to do it?

If you want to enforce it, just ban magmatic engines. They're the only real reason you'd need to pump lava in large quantities.

Tslat

Unfortunately yes, we do have people that don't like to abide by rules sometimes.
This is all under the assumption that mystcraft isn't the issue either
Like what you see here?

We can't keep doing it without you!

I mean, the fact that Mystcraft is a stable mod included in multiple modpacks released via the Technic launcher and used widely I'm just going to assume that it's not having some random error that's constantly crashing the server.

I know, I know, I've worked in tech support for nearly a decade and you can't always go on that kind of stuff when troubleshooting, but like I said earlier, I'm pretty sure it's the pumps vs. liquid physics issue. My hunch is further reinforced by the fact that both Majix and I experienced server crashes during or directly after messing with our lava pumping systems.

In any case, if we lose Mystcraft, where are we going to run our quarries?

Also, I've tried logging on a few times today, but the server's been down. I'd really like to get my phased pipes, pumps and quarries out of mystcraft ages if you're removing the plugins, cause I'm not at the point yet where I can lose those diamonds and not care.

Zito

I will make sure Clay doesn't disable it until everyone has gotten their things. I will hopefully be on tomorrow to get my things out as well...

after everyone left mystcraft worlds i reinstalled it and the server has been running for 2hours no problem...the problem has something to do with what people are doing in mystcraft bc no1 is in the worlds and now it runs fine....

Zito

I think Sybl was right about the liquids. When you reset mystcraft, it got rid of people's pumps and all that. Now everything seems fine.

Clay

I'll be on all day Monday to restart the server as many times as needed. Let's get this play caused issue solved this week.

Sounds like a plan Clay. I will try to be on, not sure if I will be able to though.
